PROGRAMS

Geriatric patients benefit from balance programs.

Cancer And Rehabilitative Exercise (C.A.R.E. of Maryland): The goal of the C.A.R.E. Program is to improve your quality of life by reducing fatigue during and after cancer treatment. Treatments used to fight cancer, such as surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, and immunotherapy; not only destroy cancer cells, but also destroy many healthy cells. The result is often a decline in optimal physical function. Exercise has been shown to have a positive effect on patients undergoing cancer treatments and cancer survivors. The individualized program will address loss of motion, strength, flexibility, cardiovascular endurance and functional mobility. If desired, a patient can be placed in a group with similar programs to help motivate and provide a support system.

Physical Therapists carefully monitor patients during treatment.

Adult Conditioning Program: The Adult Conditioning Program is designed to address the needs of individuals who wish to begin an exercise program or continue with an exercise program post-rehabilitation. Programs are individually designed for each participant and are often conducted in small groups with others at a similar level in order to help with motivation. The goal of this program is to increase strength, flexibility and endurance and to improve posture, balance and function.

Innovative exercises are utilized to improve function.

Sports Performance: Mady and Mules Physical Therapy works with area sports performance centers in order to provide an environment that allows for more in-depth conditioning programs and sport specific training. Programs are developed for individuals of all ages and ability levels.

Casting for custom orthotics is another service we offer.

Orthotics Casting/Fitting: Prescription orthotics are custom-made forms which correct your individual foot problems. They are made of high-impact materials and are designed to be inserted right into your shoes. The most important feature of a pair of orthotics is that they are made specifically for your feet. Vestibular Rehabilitation:

Vestibular Rehabilitation is an

exercise-based program designed

to significantly reduce or eliminate

symptoms of vestibular disorders

and/or vertigo by promoting

central nervous system

compensation for inner-ear deficits.

The program is designed to

decrease dizziness and visual

symptoms, to increase balance

and walking functions and to

increase general activity levels.

Based on a complete evaluation

and assessment of symptoms,

the therapist generates a list of

problems to treat, short-term

and long-term goals are

established and an individualized

treatment plan is developed.

Pregnancy Program for Expectant Mothers:

During pregnancy, all women experience changes

in their bodies.  Due to these changes, individuals

can experience painful symptoms including lower

back pain, sciatica, leg cramps, carpal tunnel

syndrome and other musculoskeletal issues.

The Pregnancy without Pain program has been

designed to address these symptoms through

hands on treatment as well as education.  As

Physical Therapists, it is our main goal to provide

early intervention to patients dealing with

pregnancy-related pain.  Early diagnosis and treatment

can prevent the development of chronic conditions,

as well as allow you to return to your normal activities

of life without pain or limitation.
